What Love Life?!?

The other day I saw this...

Yes, that is a grape (or two, really) shaped like a heart.

When I saw it in my bowl, I decided that

my fruits are like "fortune cookies" for me.

This one was telling me that my love-life would improve soon. :)

um... FALSE!!

(A good friend and I were talking about how sometimes it feels like we will be single forever and then she said,

"well, I have made it single this far, what's another 25 years?" Haha - pathetic!)

I guess it really meant that I am going to LOVE general conference!

Yep, that's what it really meant!

I have decided to have a Media Fast the week before conference again.

I get so much more out of conference when I truly prepare.

And I have lots of questions and concerns going into this conference so... goodbye blogger, goodbye facebook, goodbye iTunes and pandora and t.v. and movies and....

whoa, hello TIME! (Sad, but true.)

Happy Conference Week!! - 7 days!

Not quite as I planned... but still perfect

Spring Break was all planned out well in advance! I was so excited!

...And then I woke up Saturday morning with a throbbing tooth ache.

I have had a root canal before and I know they are NO fun.

They consist of constant, unending

PAIN.

So all morning I really hoped the pain was just something small that would go away.

Sunday I hoped for the same thing.

Monday I hoped for the same thing.

By Tuesday morning, I was positive I might just rip the tooth out myself!

I finally gave up, took some medicine, and called the doctor.

The Dentist sent me to the Endodontist.

The Endodontist sent me to the Oral-Facial Surgeon.

And within 4 hours of calling my dentist, I had two surgeries scheduled.

My dad gave me an awesome blessing before I went in, and Thursday at noon, I was knocked out in order to have my tooth extracted and the severe infection below it removed before it got in my blood stream.

The surgery went fine (it's practically like wisdom-teeth-round-two).

That was not in my plans for Spring Break.

BUT...

It was the only time:

- I had access to my doctors in the valley

- A responsible adult could take me and pick me up

- My mom could buy me endless soft foods

- I had access to a blender

- I could take off from school

Despite the fact that my doctors were all either out of town or overbooked, I was able to get through the system in a matter of hours and in for surgery within 48 hours.

Heavenly Father knew I needed to have this taken care of but that had it happened a different week, it would have put me extremely behind in school, driving down and up multiple times a week, and having to take care of myself while I healed.

So, although the infection has been there for WEEKS (more likely months or even a year), I didn't feel a thing until it was time to go home for Spring Break.

God's timing was PERFECT.

I still wish I didn't have to go through it (and I'm not looking forward to round two in a few months), but throughout the whole ordeal, I was so amazed that God was and is concerned with every small detail in my life.

Today, I am grateful that God cares about

ME!

On Duty

I finished my last midterm yesterday.

Not even two minutes after I finished, I starting making plans

(while still in class) for Spring Break!

I daydreamed all day of HOT weather and... water!

Yep, I get to lifeguard next week.

This lifesaving device can't even wait to be back on duty!!!!!!

49 Hour Utah Trip

My roommate and I decided a few weeks ago that, weather permitting, we were going to make the world's fastest trip to Utah and back. Welp, weather permitted! :) And we were off!

We spent 20 hours driving, 6 hours sleeping, and the other 23 crammed packed full of fun!

• We woke up early Saturday morning (after getting to Utah at 1am) to go running and watch the sunrise. We ran about 15 steps up a very steep hill and then resigned to walk to rest! (the sad part - walking up it was still a workout). It ended up being an overcast day and the sunrise was nonexistent, but the view was still amazing!!
• We went to the Bountiful temple to do baptisms. That is such a beautiful temple!!! It was so good to be back inside the temple! I didn't get to go to a temple last month and I missed it!
• I went to this sweet girl's baptism. She looked so beautiful in her white jumpsuit and the baptism was so neat! I'm so glad I got to go and be there for this special day in her life! I am proud of her for making this big decision and being so reverent about it.
• I went to a luncheon afterwards with her entire family and got to spend lots of time with all of them. It was SO fun to see them and just be with them!! The time I had with them FLEW by and I have decided once again that I hate saying goodbye!
• Cami and I drove down to Salt Lake and went and did baptisms at the Salt Lake Temple. This is something I had on my bucket list so it was so exciting to finally go! It was packed and we had very little time there but it was so gorgeous! As I admired all the woodwork and finite details inside, I couldn't help but think of all those who put everything into making it such a beautiful place in the late 1800's. WOW!
• I also got to do a drive-by look of the Mt. Timpanogos temple (looks a lot like the Bountiful temple) and the Provo temple! - Yes, four temples in ONE day!!
• For dinner, Chase took me to Tucano's for dinner. It was AMAZING! And, you would be proud - I finally tried Sushi... and chicken heart, and plenty of other things I never planned on eating. So fun! Thanks Chase!!
• Late Saturday night, I stayed up talking to Candace (a good friend from high school) all about life! It was so fun! Thanks for letting me crash at your place, Candace!
• Sunday morning we drove over to my cousin's house and I got to see Tiana and the family for a split second before we went to Sacrament meeting with them... and then drove the LONG drive home in order to be back for the CES fireside!

It was an awesome trip! I had so much fun seeing so many people that I haven't seen in awhile (some in many years)! It went so fast and it felt like an entire week packed into 49 hours!!

I am so glad I got to go! Thanks to all those who made it such a great weekend!

I am so blessed to have the world's greatest friends and family!!
